Minutes from where Derek Chauvin was facing trial for the murder of Geroge Floyd, Daunte Wright was recently killed after a traffic stop, bringing Minneapolis to the spotlight for police violence once again. All this in spite of the city’s increase in funding dedicated to better police training and de-escalation. Instances of racially motivated police violence continue, as does the publicity around these occurrences.
