Former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, who resigned in 2008 amid a prostitution scandal, launched his bid for New York City Comptroller on Monday July 8th, collecting petition signatures in Union Square to secure his place on the ballot while surrounded by a throng of reporters, onlookers, and some hecklers.
