Following the example of cities like San Francisco and Seattle, Mayor Bloomberg is hoping to implement a mandatory composting plan during his final term as mayor of New York. The plan, effective by 2016, would require New Yorkers to begin separating food waste and other organic materials out from their trash, or risk being fined. This week on BTR Pulse, guest host Heather Mundinger speaks with people in New York about adding another mandatory step to their trash sorting and recycling process.
