West Virginia songwriter William Matheny cut his teeth in the excellent band Southeast Engine before setting out on his current solo endeavor. Using Americana, country, and folk as a springboard for his powerful, literate indie rock story songs, Matheny has crafted a body of work to lure even the most devout indie snobs to the twangy side. He dropped by Serious Business Music in DUMBO with his band to show us just how they rock out down south.
