Walker Lukens is a songwriter based in Austin, Texas. His new EP grew out of voice memos and home recordings — ultimately fully produced by Spoon drummer Jim Eno (who even plays keyboards on it) and reproduced in all its fully-realized glory by Lukens’ band, The Side Arms, to sound just as great live. Catchy melodies, deep and soulful grooves, and some hard-to-categorize ambient sounds blend together in a special way, giving the songs their own unique vibe to make them extra memorable. He stopped by Serious Business Music in DUMBO for this special session.
Walker Lukens’ EP, Never Understood, is available now from Modern Outsider.
