Special Explosion is an excellent rock band from Seattle that plays a type of music they call “dreamy rock” (or if they’re feeling cheeky, “Dreamo,” which we actually sorta like) and it is — catchy, dynamic, emotionally-laden, pretty music. The male/female (brother/sister) dual vocals help the group rise above many other guitar rock bands, pushing things a little more into that oh-so-sweet indie pop territory. On their first trip to NYC, they stopped into the studio to play some music and speak with Maia about how they formed at School Of Rock.
