Dave Monks – best known as the bandleader of Canadian indie rock band Tokyo Police Club – doesn’t waste any time. For the past several years, he’s used the downtime from TPC to work on his solo music with a focus on his voice and acoustic guitar, resulting in his first solo full length being released just ahead of a new record from his other band. Here, he presents a stripped-down taste of some of his newest tunes, accompanied by Alyson McNamara, at Serious Business Music in Brooklyn.
