Howard is one of those bands that blurs the lines between a solo project and band; named for the lead singer/songwriter, Howard Feibusch, their performance indicates that there’s more musical interplay than the name might imply. Musically, the Brooklyn-based band straddles the line between traditional songwriting and (tastefully) using modern technology to craft their own distinct take on folktronica. Following in the footsteps of the likes of Beck, Radiohead, and the Antlers, with fragile, crooning vocals over noise-laden ambience and beats, Howard has a refreshingly developed sound. They stopped by Saltlands Studio to share some music (in trio format) and to talk about the project.
