Joanna Sternberg is an artist and musician from Manhattan, NY. With a background in jazz and tons of experience on a wide range of instruments, their own music uses folk composition to tell brutally honest stories through song, with a sadness and honesty aimed at perhaps – hopefully – helping the listener to deal with their own personal challenges. We joined Joanna at home, in rehearsal, at Serious Business Music, and at a show alongside their dad at Sunny’s Bar in Red Hook, Brooklyn for this intimate look at a fascinating songwriter and creative individual at a crucial point in their career – just ahead of the release of their debut album, their first national tour, and their 28th birthday.
