Get thee to the Listening Booth today where DJRePete is spinning high energy alt from Dutch Party and Hey Marseilles, and electro bloc by Tenniscoats, and some lighter alt via Quilt and Damien Jurado. Plus, some choice throwbacks mixed in from Noah and the Whale, Passenger, and Justin Vernon’s two bands: Bon Iver and Volcano Choir. Also hit up bands playing this weekend’s Firefly Festival in Dover Delaware as well as the Best Kept Secret Festival in the Netherlands. And in this week’s spotlight, get lost with some trippy jazz freestyle from the likes of the Sunwatchers. That’s this week’s midweek fix with DJRePete on BTRToday!
Another happy Saturday here at Garbage Garage! Today we’re starting off the show with a half hour of really good, relaxing, non-coffee-shop-esque folk. With bands like Mountain Man and S. Carey I think you’re really going to enjoy chilling out to it. And we’ve got a great mix of new and old on the rest of the show. Remember to check out BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and SoundCloud.
DJRePete’s got your midweek music discovery with R&B from Mavis Staples, alt rock from Quilt, and choice throwback tracks from Bon Iver. Plus, as we approach the change in season in the states, hit up info on the upcoming Treefort and 35 Denton music festivals. Also, hit up album news and tour info from Charles Bradley, who headlines some rhythm and blues. And zen out with some jazz from the likes of the New York Art Quartet. That’s your diverse start to your music discovery Wednesday on BTR Today with DJRePete!
Happy Weird Wednesday! I really like today’s show. It’s all built around the delightfully lengthy centerpiece of Phantom Horse’s Amsel Variation. Fanning out from there we’ve got folk, crazy electronic, and of course, at least one Spencer Krug track with Sunset Rubdown’s Idiot Heart. We’ve got a good one. And don’t forget to head over to Facebook and give BTR a like!
