It's almost fall! And you know what that means - the return of pumpkin lattes, rosy cheeks, and classic fall fashion. Today's Sew & Tell guest puts a spin on classic style for her F/W 2012 collection - Lizz Wasserman of the L.A.-based popomomo creates women's wear pieces that are heady, sophisticated, and still playful. The former creative designer for Free People launched her own line with the desire to make changes for the sustainable, and has found no shortage of fans for her collections. Each season is inspired by icons, cultural movements, and philosophies that range from Geogia O'Keefe to the Russian Constructivists. With that level of creative approach, it's no surprise to discover that Lizz comes from a background in sociology and anthropology, and on today's show, we'll learn about how she made the leap from European squat culture to her own label, her method for developing one-of-a-kind prints, the inspiration behind her F/W 2012 pieces, and how her closet has changed as she's moved into her 30's. All that, plus a stellar playlist, including brand new Yeasayer, samples of the new collaborative projects Poor Moon and OMBRE, and a gorgeous cover of the Arcade Fire from two San Francisco-based musicians. So grab a cup of cider and get ready to take notes - fall is fashionably early on BTR!
