Hey there, fashion fans! This week, we're taking a look at an important and under-recognized phenomenon: shopping addiction. While not addressed by the professional therapeutic community until just recently, an addiction to compulsive shopping has been a struggle for people over centuries. Author and freelance writer Avis Cardella opened up about her own difficult experiences in "Spent: Memoirs of a Shopping Addict," and I had the pleasure of talking with her this week. On today's show, Avis will share about her work as a professional in the fashion industry, the process through which she realized her shopping addiction, her subsequent road to recovery, and how that experience has changed her perspective on style. Plus, a great mix of music that includes a reissue from North Carolina's Ashrae Fax, new music from Woods and Owen, and a few Francophile tracks sprinkled in as well. You don't want to miss this one, so tune in and turn it up - it's Sew & Tell on BTR!
