It’s full-on summer here in NYC and all that means for me is that I want to be at the beach 100% of the time. Nothing’s better than nice sand and warm sun on a hot New York day. That’s why the beginning of today’s show is dedicated to all things beach-related. Wavves, Bleached, King Tuff…it’s a very summery start to our playlist today. And don’t forget to follow BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and SoundCloud.
The Listening Booth goes on the road today, with a playlist spanning the Northside Festival in Williamsburg + the Bonnaroo stages in Manchester Tennessee. Just in time for both, DJRePete is spinning a mix guide for festival goers and/or a playlist for those who want to attend vicariously. Hit up alternative from Jeff the Brotherhood and the Heliotropes, electronica crossover with Scam Avenue and Bob Moses, and blues-funk from Charles Bradley and Lettuce. Plus, catch a few populist b-side tracks from Chvrches and Two Door Cinema Club, as well as appropriate festival trippy goodness from Tame Impala and Michael Rault. It’s (sorta) officially summer, folks, in the Listening Booth with DJRePete on BTR!
Another happy Saturday here at Garbage Garage! Today we’re starting off the show with a half hour of really good, relaxing, non-coffee-shop-esque folk. With bands like Mountain Man and S. Carey I think you’re really going to enjoy chilling out to it. And we’ve got a great mix of new and old on the rest of the show. Remember to check out BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and SoundCloud.
Today DJ Patrick K and Matt your other host react to songs from Salt People, Jake Tobin, Claire Cronin, Pigarette, Shy Mirrors, MC Tree and Noah Sims, Jerry Paper, Shiv and Kurt Vile
Welcome, one and all! Guys, I just can't help myself from playing all of my ALL-TIME favorite bands! I'm sorry to all the great new bands I might be playing otherwise, but once you hear this week's set you'll agree-- sometimes you just gotta go with some tried-and-true clazzix. So join me in hearing such hits from bands like LES CALAMITIES, THE BARBARAS, THE LEOPARDS, and so many more!
New music from The James Hunter Six, Mavis Staples, and Quilt.
