Interview guest Andrew McAnsh talks about his new album Illustrations on today’s episode of The Jazz Hole with Linus. McAnsh wrote Illustrations while he lived in Japan during the summers of 2012 and 2013, inspired by Japanese Zen and heavily influenced by the music of the late great Canadian born trumpeter and composer Kenny Wheeler to which this album pays tribute. The other two tracks today are by the acclaimed NYC-based pianist Glenn Zaleski.
Today’s episode of The Jazz Hole with Linus includes tracks from the brand new albums Steppin’ Up by the Eric Hargett Trio, Summer Breeze by Greg Murphy and The Rhythm Method by Professor Cunningham & His Old School (featuring Wycliffe Gordon). Additional tracks by Plucky Strum (Harvie S & Sheryl Bailey), Rodrigo Bonelli featuring the late Don Friedman, Manami Morita and the Canadian trio Autobahn.
Linus welcomes interview guest Rob Duguay on today’s episode of The Jazz Hole. The NYC-based bassist recently released a new album entitled Safe in Sound with his group SONGEVITY (featuring Justin Kauflin on piano and Nadav Snir-Zelniker on drums). Next to the music of Rob Duguay, you will also get to hear tracks from the new album Of The Tree by the Canadian group Autobahn as well as a track by the NYC-based saxophonist Roxy Coss.
