Here We Go Magic
Happy Holidays! Only two Thursdays left in December. Today I'll be playing some of the best tracks from 2015. Remember, next Thursday, 12/31 (New Year's Eve) I'll be rocking my absolute favorite songs from 2015. Stay tuned!
The Thursday show for December 3, 2015 kicks off with Cass McCombs' latest album, A Folk Set Apart, which contains rarities and b-sides. You'll also hear new tunes from Givers and Kelley Stoltz
DJRePete spares you from the holiday music today with alternative from Oberhofer and The Mountain Goats, a trippy set with Michael Rault and the very 60s-sounding Hierophants, and electronica beats with Skylar Spence and Soda Shop. Also, hit up info on the Stereosonic Festival going on this weekend in Australia and featuring an appearance by BTR artist Claptone. Plus, discover alt artist Shirlette Ammons and don’t miss a cameo from Peter, Bjorn, and John. Spare yourself the sleigh bells for this 90 minute music discovery mix with DJRePete on BTR!
DJRePete inches you 90 minutes closer to the Thanksgiving weekend in the US with power electric alt from CHVRCHES and Metric. He’s also thankful for the latest album from Here We Go Magic and an addictive beat track from Bob Moses. Plus, hit up a folk set headlined by The Mae Trio head of their appearance down-under to play the new MOTH venue in Brisbane. And get info on Evening Hymns’ doubleheader this Friday in Toronto. That’s your Thanksgiving Eve start with DJRePete on BTR!
The Thursday Mix for the first week of November features new music from Little Fevers, Young Rival, Pure Bathing Culture and more! You'll also hear a track off of Joanna' Newsom's latest release Diver's and a lovely tune by an artist I recently discovered, John Mark Nelson.
Post Halloween spookiness!!!! DJ Drew delivers the ghoulish tunes on his Sunday Show only on BTR
It’s a delightfully weird Wednesday again here on BTR. I’m really digging the new album from German soundscape creators Phantom Horse, so we’re leading off with them today. We visit some old favorites like Sharon Van Etten and some really, really old favorite like Sufan’s Stevens’ title track from Enjoy Your Rabbit. So make sure to stay tuned!
DJ Drew's Sunday Show jam packed with tasty tunes.....dig in!
Happy CMJ week everyone! BTR had our awesome party on Wednesday, but I hope you’ve been going to amazing shows in NYC all week. We’re keeping the great music going on the show today with tracks from Here We Go Magic, Wand, and Oberhofer, plus a gajillion more bands. Ok, maybe not a gajillion, but at least 18! And don’t forget to check out BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and SoundCloud.
Welcome to another edition of God Bless Weirdmerica, where we dissect exactly what “weird” means. Pretty much where music is concerned, anything that defies genre. More specifically, we play New Weird America music and all of its relatives. That’s why on today’s show we’re playing everything from the spectacularly weird Ero Gray to the nearly normal Mercury Rev. Make sure to stay tuned and check it all out!
Hello and welcome to the ROCK SHOW on BTR! It's a very exciting time here at BTR, for our FREE CMJ show is coming up next week! Check out tunes in this week's set from bands that are playing-- including Gramma's Boyfriend, Worriers, and Beverly! Plus so many more good tunes... It's good!
DJRePete marks his own decade on the BTR airwaves with a self-indulgent mix of throwbacks from over the last 10 years. Tune in for power rock from Music Go Music, addictive folk with Here We Go Magic, and beats with TheSatisfcation. Plus, DJRePete revisits hip hop band The High Decibels, gets lost in a pair of lyricless tracks by Delicate Steve and Euphone, and semi-coins the genre alt soul through Joan As Policewoman. And hit up info on the One Eskimo animated experience with a message. As always, a solid mix to start your BTR Wednesday!
It’s BTR’s 10th birthday this week!!! What an amazing accomplishment- we’ve come so far in ten years and most importantly, played so many fantastic new artists for our listeners to discover. In that spirit, for the 10th anniversary we’re starting off the show with all new music, and finishing it up with old favorites that I played when I first started at BTR in 2008 and 2009. And while you’re listening, go onto Facebook and give us a birthday like!
We’re starting the show off today with one of the summeriest songs I could find- because it’s been freezing in New York this week! Bonneroo is happening right now for goodness’ sakes! We should all be walking around comfortably at 9PM in shorts and flip flops! Well, it’ll get here eventually, but right now we have so much good music on the show to celebrate! And don’t forget to follow BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and SoundCloud!
God Bless Weirdmerica has two really exciting new artists with new tracks on the show today: Dan Deacon and Panda Bear. PB’s work outside of Animal Collective has never been more exciting, and we’ve got two tracks for you today. For more great content, make sure to follow BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Instagram, SoundCloud and Pinterest.
