Welcome to the second ever Garbage Garage! It may still be Saturday, but it’s no longer the Saturday Show. It’s the Garbage Garage now, and every show we’ll be playing you an extra half hour of carefully curated music. This week’s theme is San Francisco garage rock. I was thinking of one of my favorites, Ty Segal, when I thought of this theme, and then of course there were so many great Bay Area bands that I didn’t have a chance to fit him in! All the better to hear tracks from the likes of Coachwhips, Bronze, and Sic Alps.
Have you downloaded BTR’s new app yet? If not, then you need to check it out ASAP! It’s such a great and easy way to find all of your favorite BTR shows and take them with you on your phone or on your iPad. You’ve gotta check it out. You’ve also got to check out today’s amazing show, with artists like The Blow, Prince Rama, and Roisin Murphy. You don’t want to miss it.
Holy smokes, this is a good show today. We start off with new Animal Collective, which is always a reason to get excited, then we hear some good old fashioned California rock with Thee Oh Sees, we’ve got R&B, we’ve got violin rock- yeah, pretty much BTR has got it all. And while you’re listening, don’t forget to check us out on Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and SoundCloud.
Happy Weird Wednesday! I really like today’s show. It’s all built around the delightfully lengthy centerpiece of Phantom Horse’s Amsel Variation. Fanning out from there we’ve got folk, crazy electronic, and of course, at least one Spencer Krug track with Sunset Rubdown’s Idiot Heart. We’ve got a good one. And don’t forget to head over to Facebook and give BTR a like!
Happy Saturday everyone! I love doing the Saturday Show, because, well, it means it’s Saturday! There’s nothing better than a day of rest and fun to fill with a brand new custom playlist of all the very best independent music out there. That’s why we’ve got great new tracks from artists like You Say Party (formerly You Say Party! We Say Die!) and Hospital Ships. And don’t forget to check out BTR on Facebook!
Today DJ Patrick K and DJ Madalyn drop in to reminisce on 10 years of BTR
