New Year's Week - We culled a list of the best concerts to bring in the New Year so that you don’t have to.
DJRePete starts your BTR Wednesday high energy via The Trouble with Templeton. Also breakin’ thru, new rock alt by The Might Stef, blues with Jolie Holland, and psychedelic-ness with Moodoid. Plus, DJRePete hits up the range that is the Spider Bags Frozen Letter album, and tune in for info on a trio of festivals on both sides of the pond. That’s your Wednesday start on BTR!
DJRePete’s got your midweek #musicdiscovery fix with new alternative by Devon Williams, electronica with Dinowalrus, and beats by Chimurenga Renaissance. Plus, hit up info and an artist playing this weekend’s Nice Jazz Festival in France. And speaking of France, also tune in for a throwback track by France’s former first lady. Hint: it’s not Marie Antoinette. Grab the hump day tunes with DJRePete on BTR!
Split Single is a rock band fronted by Jason Narducy (Superchunk, the Bob Mould Band, Telekinesis, Verbow). Joined on record by Britt Daniel (Spoon) and Jon Wurster (Superchunk, The Mountain Goats), along with a rotating crew of similarly talented friends for live shows, Narducy has put together something worthy of much more attention than most projects with so many parentheses in their bio, if you catch our drift. The band dropped by to treat us to some of the killer tunes and have silly chat time with Travis, including discussion of Narducy’s cameo-filled comedic video, “The Sexiest Elbows in Rock Music” (look out for Dave Grohl, Fred Armisen, and Margaret Cho, to name a few).
