It’s should divas day on Garbage Garage! That’s right, we’re starting the show off with some of my favorite gospel, soul, and R&B singers: Mavis Staples, Sharon Jones, Naomi Shelton, and Bettye LaVette. And we’ve also got great tracks from The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Foreign Born that we haven’t heard in a while. And don’t forget to follow BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and SoundCloud.
This week’s edition of The Listening Booth with DJRePete kicks up with alt from Miwi LaLupa, trippy goodness with Bibio, and a dreamy set to get lost in with Black Mountain. Plus, in this week’s spotlight, check out a bevy of throwback electro crossover tracks including Tycho, Kiln, and Sharon Van Etten. And don’t miss info on the Hangout Festival with appearance by BTRtoday band Florence and the Machine. And experience some music discovery in the Listening Booth with Save the Clock Tower and a block by the Summer Twins. That’s your midweek mix with DJRePete on BTRtoday!
Dealer's Choice with DJ Drew as the dealer! A double shot block and an Anti-Trump block of reggae and punk tunes!
Welcome to the second ever Garbage Garage! It may still be Saturday, but it’s no longer the Saturday Show. It’s the Garbage Garage now, and every show we’ll be playing you an extra half hour of carefully curated music. This week’s theme is San Francisco garage rock. I was thinking of one of my favorites, Ty Segal, when I thought of this theme, and then of course there were so many great Bay Area bands that I didn’t have a chance to fit him in! All the better to hear tracks from the likes of Coachwhips, Bronze, and Sic Alps.
It's The Tryst on BTR with 2 hours of tunes for your Tuesday. Enjoy a special set of alt-country tunes at the end of today's mix!
We’ve got long and weird on the show today- from Kiran Leonard’s sixteen-minute opus, Pink Fruit, and Joanna Newsom’s new weird Americaish Sawdust & Diamonds to the completely weird Tablets Breathing Their Last Breath, it’s a delightfully musically diverse show today. And don’t forget to follow BTR on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and SoundCloud.

Hanabi’s parents are shoving off to Prague and Budapest in a few months to keep the image of the American tourist alive. So, with a father-son dinner meet up on the schedule, we figured we’d get them ready for that Eastern European cuisine by visiting Cafe Europa in the Richmond district.
