Old Joy Releases 'Monks Aflame' Album With Profits Going to Local Charity

Is there a better way to end your year by buying music you’ll love and having your money going to help others? We don’t think so.

Chicago-based indie rocker Alex Reindl from Sonny Falls is using his solo project, Old Joy, to spread charity around his hometown. Monks Aflame, an album bursting with emotions, is an indie-folk rock, garage-inspired, Americana-tinged whirlwind of intricate melodies and touching lyrics.

You’ll not only feel your spirits lift while listening to Monks Aflame, but you’ll also feel good buying it—100 percent of the album’s profits go to the local charity My Block, My Hood, My City. The non-profit provides underprivileged youth with an awareness of the world and opportunities beyond their neighborhood, preaching core values of “interconnectivity, empathy, hope,” as well as “civic responsibility.”
