The Fence is a 1,000 foot long public photography exhibit that runs along the border Brooklyn Bride Park, Brooklyn, NY and is open to the public, free of charge. The photographers ranged in experience from hobbyists and novices to veterans of the industry, but were all asked the same question: “What makes up a community?”
Shutterbugs then had to choose one of the following five themes: home, streets, people, creatures and play. These seemingly basic building blocks of community has garnered photography from all over the world demonstrating the diversity of this simple idea. All submissions were considered by a panel of almost 30 photography professionals and educators as judges.
