The Baffler 30th Anniversary With Deerhoof

On Saturday, August 25, The Baffler celebrated their 30th anniversary with a bash at Elsewhere in Brooklyn. One of our favorite bands, Deerhoof, headlined the celebration, playing their final show of 2018 along with opening sets from Palberta and Maneka.

True to their tagline “The Journal That Blunts the Cutting Edge,” The Baffler celebrated in style, with remarks by contributing writer Liz Pelly and Editorial Assistant Zach Webb before Palberta, and Thomas Frank before Deerhoof, who shared a special rendition of “Happy Birthday,” with drummer Greg Saunier singing and playing guitar.

Edwina Hay was there to celebrate and captured these photos of the fun.
