The Art Students League of NY 125th Anniversary

The Art Students League of New York has been housed in the landmark American Fine Arts Society building since its doors first opened 125 years ago. Over the weekend, The League celebrated their 125th anniversary with a “ST[art]UP extravaganza,” a series of exhibitions, lectures and events chronicling its history and celebrating the alternative arts community. The weekend’s events culminated in a House Party inspired by the NYC art scene costume galas of the ’50s and ’60s.

Jeanette D. Moses was there to check out the art and the scene.
