Though the fanfare may have come to a close in Sochi over the weekend, a little taste of Olympic glory stopped by Grand Central Terminal on Sunday as part of the “Road to Sochi” touring exhibit. Activities included both Olympic and Paralympic-style events for participants to try out, such as curling and bobsledding, plus some face-to-face time with Olympians themselves.
Though as you can tell from the following photos, the event was not all fun and games. New York City’s LGBT community demonstrated solidarity outside the terminal against Russian President Vladimir Putin, whose ban of “gay propaganda” stirred much controversy both before and during the games.
