The traveling public art installation Prismatica has landed in NYC’s financial district. The installation, up from March 15 to April 21, features 25 illuminated 7’6″ tall spinnable kaleidoscopes in the Water Street Plazas at 75 Water St, 77 Water St and 32 Old Slip. Presented by the Alliance for Downtown New York, the project was created and executed by RAW Design in collaboration with ATOMIC3 as a production of Quartier des Spectacles Partnership.
When we checked it out on opening day, we found it to be a playful and surreal way to liven up the city’s office buildings. At night, the lights light up a mundane section of our city, making for perfect Instagram posts and quirky selfies.
