Tech startup company, Urthecast, celebrated Mashable’s Social Media Day this past Saturday by staging a 450 person flashmob at Hudson River Park in NYC. At 1 p.m., a pack of lively participants dressed in bright orange broke out into dance while tourists and onlookers watched the 11 minute routine in astonishment. Performers moved themselves into several symbols including a hashtag, the “@” sign, and a heart.
Urthecast aims to provide the first-ever HD streaming video of the earth from space. Aerial footage of the complete performance will be posted on the Urthecast website on Thursday.
