This week I checked out Stargazing on the High Line which welcomed all to come look at the moon and stars through two high-powered telescopes provided by the Amateur Astronomers Association. The event started as the sun went down and people who were walking by took interest in what the astronomers were up to with these big telescopes. Soon there was a sizable crowd of people old and young alike eager to look through the telescopes. This is definitely a weekly event worth checking out if you are curious about what is going on above all that New York City smog.
