Summer in Bryant Park

By Ashley Rodriguez

If you’re in Manhattan and looking for something close by to keep you occupied or take a break from work, Bryant Park is the perfect place to go. Settled right next to the New York Public Library’s main location, the park is conveniently located. Beautiful gardens border opposite ends of the park’s lush lawn. While many parks have lush landscapes and beautiful flowers, Bryant Park stands out among the rest.

Games and activities are offered throughout the park for its many daily visitors. It’s home to the beautiful Le Carrousel, a small putting green, a fountain, and an outdoor reading room. If you’re up for a game, you can choose from ping pong, chess, or backgammon. The nearby Bryant Park Grill and Bryant Park Cafe are hot spots for many New Yorkers, and would be welcome retreats after a competitive game of ping pong.

Bryant Park also offers yoga on Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings as well as planned events throughout the year. With a plethora of activities to choose from, it’s no wonder Bryant Park is usually crowded. Don’t worry though, there’s always room for one more.
