Beer lovers of New York rejoice. NYC Beer Week 2018 is officially upon us
While the rein of IPAs over the beer world continues, beer makers offered much more than just hop heavy pints. Beer week attendees had a chance to enjoy a whole galaxy of sours, pilsners, fruity beers and lagers—and, yes, quite a few India Pale Ales.
The hoppy happening kicked off on Saturday, Feb. 24 with an opening night bash at Brooklyn Expo Center in Greenpoint. Sixty craft breweries offered samples of their tasty goods. The week-long celebration of all things beer runs through March 4 and features mouth-watering tap takeovers, food and beer pairings, beer education events, and enough collaborations and bottle releases to make your snobbiest beer nerd friends jealous of all your Untappd checkins.
Edwina Hay checked out the opening night party and capture photos of the celebration, including the cease-and-desisted Bieryonce, a vibrant Raspberry taster from Folksbier and a line for the men’s bathroom that’s about as long as you’d expect at a beer-themed event.
