Deepavali Festival at the South Street Seaport - PHOTOBLOG

ADDITIONAL CONTRIBUTORS BTR Editorial

The 26th annual Deepavali Festival filled the South Street Seaport in lower Manhattan with delicious Indian cuisine, laughter, and an attempt at a world record on Sunday, Oct. 6. The festival, celebrating the return of Lord Rama, is known for being a festival of light and life. Traditional Indian attire and Deepavali greetings were worn proudly among the crowds, despite the autumn chill.

Nicole Stinson managed to get out for the days activities and in the evening BreakThru’s very own DJ Rekha attempted a Guinness World Record for the largest Bhangra Dance session.
