This past Monday, April 22, runners in 123 locations across the globe came together to show support for the city of Boston by taking part in a solidarity run named #BostonStrong. The run was part of a worldwide social media effort to support the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
A minute of silence for the victims kicked things off in Central Park before hundreds of participants took part. Proceeds for t-shirts sold during the event went to The One Fund Boston, a foundation recently founded by Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino for helping those who were most affected by the tragedy.
