Milliners Guild Parade

By Tanya Silverman

The NYC chapter of the Milliners Guild got together late last week to celebrate St. Catherine’s Day, honoring the patron saint of millinery (or hat making). Clad in feathered, felt, or furry handmade hat wear, these talented women met in Bryant Park for a quick carousel ride, then paraded eastward down 42nd Street. Marching through the opulent environment of Grand Central Terminal and ultimately into the Oyster Bar, the destination proved a suiting environment for the milliners to sport their classy craftwork.
