We’ve seen Will Smith as a man in black. This weekend, we saw what he’d look like as a man in blue. And the consensus is that it isn’t pretty.
Disney rolled out a trailer for the studio’s upcoming live action remake of Aladdin which features Smith as the Genie, the role played by Robin Williams in the 1992 cartoon film. Smith is forgoing the manic motormouth energy Williams invested into the role but, for at least a few scenes, he’s keeping the character’s blue coloration.
The computer-assisted image of blue-skinned Smith is very off-putting and social media went into overdrive. Below, we collected some of the most magical comments we couldn’t imagine Disney ever wished for.

Will Smith as the genie looks like what one of those kids from the 90’s Fruit Gushers commercials would look like if they never found a cure for their fruit curse.
