Recently, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inducted The Cure in recognition for the English group’s immortal new wave and pop hits like “Friday I’m In Love,” “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Fascination Street.”
It’s a well-deserved honor. Still, it doesn’t seem reasonable to expect The Cure to display much enthusiasm about the induction. This is The Cure, after all. They’re the godfathers of goth and the Mozarts of moping.
So when Carrie Keegan brought Ryan Seacrest-levels of sunny enthusiasm to her red carpet interview with Cure frontman Robert Smith, what happened wasn’t surprising. Still, it was hilarious. Smith and his crew didn’t give a single fuck and weren’t shy about saying so.
this is the funniest start to an interview i have ever seen i love robert smith man pic.twitter.com/7H4okzPX0L

People all over the internet are delighting at The Cure’s reaction to Keegan’s bubbly excitement. And we’re here to tell you, it’s not the first time the web’s been delighted by Robert Smith. The Cure has entertained the internet for years. The Cure memes below for proof.
