The world is in the midst of a great shift and with change comes struggle. This means everyone should be trying their best to help one another—and one way of doing that is putting your talents to great use.
Chicago-based Premier Rock Forum (PRF) and the 37 artists that have donated their music are doing just that with the new compilation PRF/BLM. Out tomorrow via the #PRF/BLM Bandcamp, 100 percent of the $10 album’s proceeds will go to two Chicago-based charities—Brave Space Alliance, which is a Black/LGBTQ+ led center focused on creating and providing affirming, culturally competent, “for-us by-us” resources, programming, and services for LGBTQ individuals; And My Block, My Hood, My City which is an organization that provides underprivileged youth with opportunities beyond their neighborhood.
“[I] decided to pull this record together as a response to current events and as a creative salve for so many of us under lockdown,” PRF coordinator Harvey Auzorst tells BTRtody. “I’m from Manchester, UK, but [PRF’s] heart lies in Chicago, and the two charities we are raising for are not only doing essential work right now but are also looking ahead to the mapping of a future we can all take heart from.”
Artists like Hey Colossus, Holy Sons, Luke Haines, and many more have submitted exclusive and unreleased material to give you the perfect reason to rock out and do some good in the world. Out tomorrow via #PRF/BLM Bandcamp!
