Pop-Punks Dentist Get in the Spirit with “Mele Kalikimaka”

Dentist wants to wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Holiday music can get annoying fast, but the Hawaii-themed “Mele Kalikimaka” is definitely an underrated classic. Famously sung by Bing Crosby in the ‘50s, the New Jersey pop-punkers, Dentist, have reinvented it for 2019 with tough guitars and delicate vocals.

With its gentle melody and its lush orchestral sound, Crosby’s “Mele Kalikimaka” is the epitome of vintage Christmas music. It’s easy to imagine your grandma swaying along to the song making apple pie in the ‘50s. Dentist keeps that holiday extravaganza feel, but adds a rockin’ twist and you can easily imagine that grandma with a mohawk headbanging along. Don’t worry—she’s still baking that apple pie. Let’s be real, grandmas make the best pie.

Be the first to listen below and feel that sweet Christmas nostalgia while rocking out to some killer pop-punk riffs. Plus, really get into the rockin’ holiday spirit and catch Dentist live at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right 12/14 with Honduras and The Zings.
