Our Week In Music: Song Premieres, Reviews, & Live Sets At Home

In case you couldn’t keep up with the musicians, bands, and artists we’ve been throwing at you all week, here’s a quick recap…

This week, on The Music Meetup, Elena Childers featured Päter—a Toronto, Canada based indie rocker. She created an entire EP out of a 30-day song challenge all alone while in quarantine. They chatted and spun the new songs.

For our BTR Live Studio (at Home), Bryan Bruchman checked in with the genre-defying Nashville-based rock band, Oginalii. They recently signed to the Mexico City-based label Devil In The Woods, and have released two singles ahead of their upcoming Pendulum EP. They had a great chat with Emma, Emma, Simon, and Ryan, and recorded an exclusive performance of three songs—two from their previous album and one of their new singles—exclusively for BTR Live Studio At Home.

Plus, another BTR Live Studio (at Home) sessions, this time with DJ Bazarro from the world of Hastyle Rhymes—a hip-hop artist, cartoonist, barber, and U.S. Air Force veteran. A man of many skills and trades, HaStyle is a world traveler and a lyrical writer who has something to say about the state of hip-hop and where it’s going. The crazy one Bazarro sat down and talked to the man who wears many hats.

On the newest Spotlight On the City, Lottie Leymarie features the city of Gainsville, Florida. You heard from Katy Deitz, Palimony, Faith & Majesty, Casey Jones II, Baer And The Lady, Kyle Keller, Maggie Clifford, Tom Miller, Jordan Burchel, and more. She also featured music from two Gainesville labels, Dion Dia Records and Belladonna.

This week’s New Vibrations was the 200th episode! Host Elena Childers curated a two-hour long special full of underground musicians and their newest music. She hopes it gave your life a little melody and maybe even a little happiness during such a chaotic year.

Ladies Skate Only with Emily Smith had every track in the mix making its Ladies Skate Only debut and new album announcements.

And finally, our Top Artist of the Week is Merce Lemon! Her new album, Moonth, is available now from Crafted Sounds/Darling.

We excitedly got to announce the newest album from Dogs As Large, Jeopardy, coming out this fall. Plus, we even debuted the upcoming LP’s first single “Break You Out”—which you can hear here. Their creative combo of Americana & psych rock is like nothing you’ve heard before.

Our resident music journalist Elena Childers reviews the newest song by New Order. The synth-pop legends came back with another dance hit—but this time, with a revolutionary ethos. Read & listen here!

We premiered Dylan Gilbert’s brooding new music video for “Epochs.” The echoing new indie rocker has the light and dark competing for your attention. Watch here!
