In case you couldn’t keep up with the musicians, bands, and artists we’ve been throwing at you all week, here’s a quick recap …
Podcasts
This week, on The Music Meetup, host Elena Childers chatted with Elise Okusami aka Oceanator! They talked about pandemic life, music-making—past, present, & future—and spun her 2020 album Things I Never Said.
For BTR Live Studio (at Home), host Jen Meller chatted with Florida singer-songwriter duo Faith & Majesty. They played some of their newest tunes and chatted about what it’s like creating as sisters, their songwriting process as nurses who work opposite shifts, writing as escapism, and their love of music.
And this week’s episode of Subliminal Inevitable featured Comedy Minus One! Host Bryan Bruchman chatted with owner Jon Solomon and talked about his long-running NJ-based record label. Along the way, they dipped into Solomon’s previous label, My Pal God Records, and got an exclusive announcement about an upcoming surprise release from Comedy Minus One.
Plus, another new BTR Live Studio (At-Home) featured Pearl Charles. Always a favorite here at BTR Live Studio, and with her excellent new album Magic Mirror (out now), we had to catch up with her once again! She delivered a lovely, stripped-down performance from her home in California and we caught up on the new record, moving out of LA, and more!
Finally, our Top Artist of the Week was Landlady! Our hosts are spinning their self-titled album the most this week!

This week we started with a list of underground artists you NEED to follow on TikTok. That’s right, the app is good for more than just funny skits and life hacks!

We also premiered the video for California/Netherland duo Sexy Pigeon! The track “Run Away Together” is perfect for laying in a meadow and letting your worries all melt away.

We also got to debut the video for Jess Rosa! Newly moved to NYC by way of Hawaii, Rosa thrashes around the city to her new single “Refrained.”

And, our last premiere of the week was a collaboration between Canadian artists Jaguar Sun and Jesse Maranager. Heart-wrenching yet oddly comforting, the duo created the perfect Spring anthem for coming out of that winter depression.
