Vodka and Aperol Spritz

I have been told before that Aperol is the sweeter sister to the bitter Campari, but I would say that Aperol still has a bitter kick to it. It is, however, a fair bit sweeter than Campari. The two Italian liqueurs are sometimes considered quite dated, but are in actuality making a bit of a comeback in the world of mixology. Aperol, in particular, makes for a wonderfully refreshing-–both literally and figuratively–-cocktail during the summer months.

What you’ll need:
2 oz citrus vodka
2 oz Aperol
1 oz club soda
Lemon wheel

Combine the Aperol, club soda, and vodka in a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake well and strain over the ice in the rocks glass. Garnish with the lemon wheel and serve.
