It might be hard to believe that the tequila sunrise we drink today is almost nothing like the original. Today’s tequila sunrise was made popular about four decades ago. Its ingredients? Tequila, orange juice, and grenadine. The original included tequila of course, but no orange juice or grenadine. In an attempt to bring the old back to the forefront without losing the orange hue of the new, I’ve combined the two recipes into one.

What you’ll need:
1 1/2 oz tequila
3/4 oz creme de cassis
2 oz seltzer
2 oz orange juice
3/4 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
Lime wedge
Ice

Directions:
Place the ice in the bottom of a highball glass. Pour over the tequila, seltzer, and lime juice. Add in the orange juice and slowly pour in the creme de cassis. Garnish with the lime wedge and serve.
