With the Kentucky Derby less than 3 weeks away, it’s time to brush up on some southern summer cocktails. The Kentucky Mule is essentially just a Moscow Mule, but switches out vodka for bourbon. The mint julep may be the official drink of the Kentucky Derby, but if you use Woodford Reserve in your Kentucky Mule you’ll at least be drinking the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby.
What you’ll need:
1 1/2 oz Woodford Reserve bourbon
3 oz ginger beer
1/2 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
Combine ice, bourbon, ginger beer, and lime juice in a small rocks glass. Stir and garnish with a lemon wheel.
