Frozen Strawberry Basil Cocktail

What says Memorial Day Weekend and the official kick-off of the summer season more than a frozen cocktail? In my mind nothing does, so I went out to my garden and clipped some basil and mint for this fruity, herbal treat. I know it’s Easy Week and by that standard I should be posting “two-ingredient cocktails,” but this one is far more suited for day drinking over the long weekend than anything you can make with just two ingredients.

What you’ll need:
3 oz vodka
3 oz club soda
4 large strawberries
Juice of 2 clementines
1 1/2 sprigs mint
1 sprig basil
Angostura bitters

Wash and slice the strawberries before placing them into a blender. Pour over the vodka and club soda. Juice the clementines into the blender and add two dashes of bitters. Wash the sprigs of basil and mint and add one of each to the blender as well. Puree and pour into a glass before garnishing with the remaining half sprig of mint.
