This cocktail is a bit more on the summery side, but I have only just discovered my fondness of Lillet, which is a French wine aperitif. The floral and citrusy notes in the Lillet complement the gin and grapefruit juice so well that I can no longer imagine this cocktail without the addition of it.
What you’ll need:
2 oz gin
1 oz Lillet blanc or rose
1 1/2 oz fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
1/2 oz seltzer
Combine the ingredients in a mixing glass and stir with a cocktail spoon. Strain into a martini or highball glass and garnish with the lime wedge.
The Lillet blanc is a bit drier than the rose with more floral notes, but the rose has strong grapefruit notes making either one a perfect fit for gin and grapefruit. The choice is yours.
