If you like sour this cocktail is definitely for you. Aperol, Campari’s sweeter sister, combines with rye and citrus to make for a slightly sweet and altogether tangy drink. I hesitated to combine rye with Aperol instead of Campari, but the two pair quite well. In fact, I think I prefer it this way.
What you’ll need:
2 oz rye
1/2 oz Aperol
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Juice of 1/3 orange
Orange wedge
Directions:
Combine the rye, Aperol, and citrus juices in a mixing glass. Place ice at the bottom of a rocks glass and pour over the liquid. Stir with a cocktail spoon and garnish with the orange wedge to serve.
