Drinking in the summer for many people is largely about maintaining their waistlines without sacrificing fun and flavor.

This cocktail, Japanese for summer orange, combines low-calorie ingredients like club soda, vodka, and sake with orange notes from Cointreau and a fresh lemon twist. It is heavily boozy, but light in flavor intensity, which makes it an ideal choice for imbibing any time.

What you’ll need:
2 oz vodka
1 oz sake
1/2 oz Cointreau
Club soda
Lemon twist

Combine the vodka, sake, and Cointreau in a mixing glass.

Stir and pour over ice into a stemless wine glass. Pour a splash of club soda on top, stir again, and garnish with the lemon twist to serve.
