Plum Manhattan

The manhattan is one of the most classic whiskey cocktails in existence. It is also one of the few that hasn’t been altered much over the years, so I felt no need to do a full revamp. The fresh fruit adds a subtly sweet flavor and the plum makes this the perfect transition drink for late summer to early fall.

What you’ll need:
3 oz bourbon
1 oz sweet vermouth
Angostura bitters
1/2 prune plum
1 red cherry

Add ice to a shaker. Pour in the bourbon, vermouth, and a dash of bitters. Shake well and strain into a martini or coupe glass. Garnish with the prune plum and cherry to serve.
