Alcoholic milkshakes have grown in popularity both in restaurants and at home as a delicious adult take on a childhood classic for their whimsical combination of drink and dessert.

You can either take the old fashioned route and make a traditional milkshake or unleash your creativity and go for something truly decadent. Either way, they are fun, quick, and simple to make. Here are two recipes using Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, which is known for its tasty garnishes and swirls so that you can easily develop flavor and don’t have to go out and buy a lot of various ingredients.

Each recipe serves three to four people.

What you’ll need for the Salted Caramel Bourbon Milkshakes:
2 cups of ice cubes
2 cups of Ben and Jerry’s Salted Caramel Core ice cream
4 oz of bourbon

What you’ll need for the Chocolate and Hazelnut Kahlua Milkshakes:
2 cups of ice cubes
2 cups of Ben and Jerry’s Hazed and Confused Core ice cream
4 oz of Kahlua coffee liqueur

Directions:
Scoop your ice cubes into your blender first so that they will be quickly crushed. Then, add the ice cream and the alcohol afterwards.

Once all of your ingredients are added, turn the blender to a medium power setting (or hit the button labeled “milkshake” if you have one) and blend for 30 seconds to a minute or until everything is well mixed together with no large ice shards.

Pour into glasses and add any optional toppings like whipped cream, maraschino cherries, caramel sauce, and shaved chocolate pieces for garnish before serving.
