Hanukkah is here, but I’ve never been too into the Manischewitz. Regardless of that fact, I do associate the purple-hued wine with Jewish holidays and so I thought it might be fun to create something a little boozier, still a bit purple, and keep the fruity nature as well. This cocktail is sweeter than many, so it will certainly fill the void Manischewitz leaves behind.
What you’ll need:
2 oz applejack brandy
1 oz creme de cassis
1 dash orange bitters
Place a few cubes of ice in a rocks glass. Place the apple in the glass as well.
In a separate mixing glass, combine the brandy, creme de cassis, and orange bitters. Stir and pour over the ice into the rocks glass. Top with club soda and serve.
