It is certainly no secret that with the holiday season comes plenty of unwanted added poundage. Of course, plenty of this comes from the foods we eat at parties as well as the snacking we do while spending extra time cooking, but it’s important not to neglect the fact that some of this weight also comes from all of the holiday drinking.
Specialty cocktails and seasonal beers are heavier during this time of year, so it’s necessary to have some alternatives. White wine is consistently one of the best choices, but there’s no reason not to turn your run of the mill white wine into a wonderful (and seasonal!) cocktail.
What you’ll need:
3 oz dry white wine
1 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
1 oz ginger ale
Add ice to the bottom of a glass. Pour in the wine and grapefruit juice. Stir lightly to combine and top with the ginger ale. Stir again and garnish with the grapefruit wedge to serve.
