Welcome to another edition of Sunday Brunch here on Dish + Drink. For those of us who occasionally tie one on after a Saturday night out, brunch is sometimes the furthest thing from our minds on Sunday morning. When I’m feeling a little hazy or lightheaded, the absolute last thing I want is a bloody mary, though the cocktail is among the most popular boozy brunch options. Mimosas are wonderful, but they are also wonderfully predictable at times.
Instead, I’ve thrown together a few ingredients that, separately, are perfect when we’re feeling a little nauseated. Together, they make a slightly bubbly, refreshing concoction that’s even more perfect for brunch.
Big thanks to Sew & Tell’s DJ Marie for heavily inspiring this cocktail.
What you’ll need:
2 oz gin
3 oz diet coke
1 oz fresh-squeezed lemon juice
Dash of St. Germain
Pour the ingredients over ice in a rocks glass or a highball glass. Mix with a cocktail spoon or stirrer. Garnish with the lemon wedge and serve.
