In the spirit of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, I thought it best to share a family favorite: Challah French Toast.
What you’ll need:
8 slices of challah
1/2 cup egg whites
1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
Whisk together the eggs, egg whites, milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
Lay slices of bread in any pan or plate with a lip. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and make sure the bread is coated on both sides.
Cook in a pan until each slice is brown on both sides and serve with powdered sugar and/or maple syrup.
I prefer my french toast extra eggy, so I pour the excess egg mixture into the pan and let it cook around the bread.
